My iPad decided to stop working 🫠

So for now, I can’t upload the caricatures for the #caricatureresolution challenge.

In the meantime, I keep practicing with colored pencils,

a limited palette,

focusing more on color and shape.

Sometimes setbacks also set the direction ✏️🎨

Today I taught the first of the two watercolor workshops of this month , and it couldn’t have gone better ✨

This image shows the exercise we worked on during the class.

14 people, a lot of focus, great energy, and genuine enthusiasm for learning portrait painting.

Huge thanks to @ibanaramburu for the excellent work organizing the workshop and creating such a welcoming space.

Looking forward to the next one.

Even though this medium won’t be the focus of the course, it helps me train the foundations of portrait painting — drawing, notan, and color.

Every technique feeds the same goal: understanding the subject before translating it into a painting.
